Seek Ye First/Alleluia - Live
NEW FILE... Added 09/30/07, performed on 09/23. I finally was persuaded by a good musician friend of mine, Gordon to show up and enter this years "South Dakota Old Time Fiddlers" Contest in the Harmonica category. I won "Fourth Place" and was invited to play a Honorable Mention song at the end of Saturday Mornings contests. I also sang for the Sunday Morning Gospel Program. Recorded by Gordon on a VHS camera from the back of the room, transferred to DVD with Dolby. I recorded/mastered it a bit then converted to MP3. I had a blast! I will be entering and participating next year for sure.
Sweet Child O'Mine_2.8meg_mp3
Just re-mixed this today 06/26/06. Get ready to Two-Step folks because this is my Bluegrass cover version of this Guns and Roses song! Probably one of the best recordings I have made with what I have to work with. The harp is alittle sloppy, but what the heck. This was one of those plugged it in, started playing, first take then... wow that was cool! Been told it has a Grateful Dead/Willie Nelson feel to it.

I changed the Title 09/30/07 - A parody on that Big and Rich tune, Wild West Show.
Pass The Buck1.7meg_mp3
Old School Country- My tribute to Jerry Jeff Walker.
This is the first song I ever wrote on guitar. It was 1988 in Bozeman, Montana. Me and a buddy of mine Steve Larsen would get together and jam alot. What else was there to do during that killer winter at -40 degrees, but cook elk steaks on the grill, and pick and grin. It's about a friend of ours Dave Keese however, alot of people relate to it when I play it live!
The Voices Of The Angels_2.5meg_mp3
I recorded this track way back in 2001. Wrote it around 1993. A beautiful song about unrequitted love.
Honey Bea_2.6meg_mp3
Recorded 2001. Written in the mid-nineties after I saw Jimmy Rodgers and then quite by accident learned to cross harp. Missing the second verse that talks about "drinking whiskey to ease the pain". A really good guitarist in town, James Dean (see www.riversideproductions.com) told me after he heard it that it had a real Muddy Waters feel to it.
Dedicated to my Mom Beatrice.
Forever More 2.0meg mp3
I wrote this in the mid nineties. I was going through a tough time. I was hanging at a coffee house in Sioux Falls one night and came home picked up my guitar started playing a A minor chord and the song just wrote itself.
This is my tribute song to Johnny Cash. I just re-mixed it today. I am usually not a finger picker on the guitar but, I did fairly well on this one.
Solitary Man_1.1meg_mp3
Cover version of Neil Diamond song. Brenda told me it has a Gordon Lightfoot feel to my voice on this.
The Waves On Sanders Beach_3.1meg_mp3
This is a rough version of a song I wrote about growing up in Coeurd'Alene, Idaho. Bruce Springsteen had Crazy Jane on his song "Spirits In the Night", Bob Segar had his fantasy love on "Fire Lake", then there was that guy that wrote "Out On Thunder Island" song etc. Well this is how it really was for me, and I am sure quite a few like me.
Dead Fall 3.2meg_mp3
Lot of Bruce Springsteen influence felt on this one.
Blues, dark despair, redemption. "These riverboats they keep on churning into the wide ocean of love. I wish these clouds would rain down on my sins and let them fly away like a dove." Recent comment on this song.
"Aw Jimmy! Don't you know that God forgives the all the sins of singers who break the hearts of women with their songs. They get washed away in their tears." Pamela Dawn
Thank you, that is as moving as moving can be.
My Chrystal Vessel 3.7meg_mp3
This acapella version is dedicated to a very good friend of mine Karen Jo Ham. Karen died suddenly a year ago June 30, 2005. I didn't write it originally with any one person in mind, but recorded this after her death in her memory. It is a little larger in size as I wanted to keep the sound quality when I re-mixed it today.
When The Dark Clouds Fade_1.6meg_mp3
This was my post 9/11 creation. I dedicate it to Lynette and Anna Fiebelkorn and Anna's unborn baby who died December 26th, 2005 in a tragic car accident. I wrote this for Lynette as well.
Honey Bea (alternate version)3meg_mp3
Found this on my hard drive. Same song a little faster tempo with just harp and rhythm track. Includes all the verses.
Wild Wood Sobriety
I dedicate this to all the "Twelve Steppers" that have gone before and after me. This song was written for "Entertainment" Purposes only. It does not reflect the viewpoints of AA, NA nor even my Self actually.
I wrote in on a very hot day mowing grass at the Yankton Cemetary. The spirits were in a good mood that day!
If you have a drug or alcohol problem these programs may work for you.
Just remember to..."Take What You Like and Leave The Rest." The "Rest" you are seeking is inside you.
Step 13 is only the beginning. I am referring to Step 13 of "The Thirteen Spiral Steps," not the sexual one you learn about in AA.
"The Roads To Recovery Are Many."
